TECES is a private non-profit institute.
TECES was established in 2001 as a Technology Centre for Electrical Machines, with the aim of connecting industry and universities in the field of electric motor drive development.
The founders of TECES are Slovenian companies and faculties: BARTEC VARNOST d.o.o., DOMEL d.o.o., ETI ELEKTROELEMENT d.o.o., HIDRIA d.o.o., KOLEKTOR TECHNOLOGIES d.o.o., Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics, University of Maribor.
The involvement of representatives from industry and research institutions in TECES' governance ensures that its activities are carried out in line with the needs of its members.

Within the Governing Board, representatives of each founder represent the interests of their respective company or institution.
The following members have been appointed to the TECES Governing Board by the founders and TECES employees:
Matjaž Čemažar, MSc, has been appointed Chairman of the TECES Governing Board.
The business and professional operations of the institute are managed by the Director, Mr Matej Gajzer, MSc, who has been reappointed for a five-year term from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2030.
