Dual-use in practice: from idea to opportunity

Workshop

Members of TECES partnerships are invited to attend the first workshop organised within the Dual-Use Alliance, established by TECES and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS). The Alliance was created with the aim of enabling easier and more systematic entry into the dual-use domain for Slovenian companies and research organisations.

The workshop “Dual-use in practice: from idea to opportunity” will take place on Friday, 14 November 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00, at the CPU – Business Training Centre (Sava Hall), Kardeljeva ploščad 27a, Ljubljana.

The workshop is intended for companies, research institutions and other organisations wishing to take advantage of the opportunities arising from the development of dual-use technologies and to develop concrete project ideas in cooperation with experts and partners.

Background

To enable Slovenian companies and research organisations to enter the dual-use field more easily and systematically, TECES and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS) established the Dual-Use Alliance.

The Alliance will support Slovenian organisations in engaging with European programmes, such as EDF, EDA, NATO, SAFE and Horizon Europe, and in developing competitive, high-value-added solutions.

At the same time, a Dual-Use VEM Contact Point has been officially established at GZS, providing companies and research organisations with support in project development, partner search, access to funding, certification processes and intellectual property protection.

Target audience

Members of TECES partnerships and GZS members.

Objective of the event

The workshop aims to help companies and research organisations better understand the opportunities and requirements of the dual-use domain, identify how their development potential can align with European trends, and begin developing concrete project ideas in collaboration with partners and experts from various fields.

At the event, you will:

gain an understanding of the dual-use concept and key development trends in Europe and Slovenia,
learn how companies strategically approach dual-use and integrate it into their development plans,
receive guidance on preparing high-quality project proposals,
develop your own ideas into concrete project concepts through an interactive workshop.
