About the Project
The MODEL2 project addresses the need for energy-independent, modular and adaptable buildings for various uses, with a focus on high energy efficiency, flexibility, resilience and living comfort.
The project addresses key challenges in providing a comprehensive energy supply for work–living units, enhancing living comfort, and ensuring connectivity and interoperability with other smart camp systems.
The added value of the project lies in the development of innovative solutions for passive and active energy management, as well as for the generation and storage of electrical energy in deployable buildings, including the development of new technologies at lower technology readiness levels. The project has the potential to create breakthroughs in the development of highly competitive products ready for industrialisation and to strengthen national technological capabilities and the green transition.
Project Results
The primary outcome of the MODEL2 project is the development and demonstration of a comprehensive, integrated modular solution for various applications, enabling energy independence, a high level of living comfort and flexibility in use.
Within the project, 18 final products will be developed and integrated into a comprehensive technological demonstrator, along with 4 laboratory prototypes that will contribute to increased energy self-sufficiency, the integration of renewable energy sources, and advanced energy and living environment management. A system for testing the connectivity and interoperability of modular buildings will also be developed.
The final products will be ready for industrialisation and commercialisation and suitable for deployment across various sectors.
